Erna Fitrini has over 18 years’ professional experience of working within the education industry. She got her Bachelor Degree in Education from IKIP Jakarta and her Master Degree in Human Resources Management from University of Indonesia. She has taught kindergarten children and has taught English at a private school and in Jakarta.
She joined Lembaga Bahasa dan Pendidikan Profesional LIA (LBPP LIA) in 1994 and during her 15 years with the organization she worked in the Test Department, Teacher Training and Development Sub Directorate and Human Resources Sub Directorate. She is a teacher trainer of Lembaga Bahasa dan Pendidikan Profesional LIA (LBPP LIA) with particular subjects—classroom management, child development, teaching principles, professional development and the teaching of the four skills. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is the opportunity to work with English and content teachers in many different contexts, and to recognize both their shared concerns and differences. She is involved in the conceptualizing English for Content Teachers (ECT) specializing in Elementary school and Kindergarten subjects.
In 2009, she left Lembaga Bahasa dan Pendidikan Profesional LIA (LBPP LIA) to become a freelance English teacher and teacher trainer.
Her main professional areas of interest are child development, and in particular, how children develop their ability to use the language to tell stories and teaching principles.
